Digital Design Manager

Role Summary

Lead a team of digital designers to deliver complex digital SoCs (MCU/DSP/NPU) for automotive smart cockpit and industrial applications. Own technical direction and project execution from architecture through tape-out, coordinating across system, analog/mixed-signal, verification, software, and test teams.

Role includes people leadership, project planning, and up to 10% travel.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting requests 8+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design with demonstrated ownership of complex IPs or full-chip designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, architecture and RTL decisions, and ensuring timely delivery of silicon.

  • Lead block- and chip-level digital architecture, RTL design, and implementation for SoCs.
  • Drive architecture and micro-architecture tradeoffs for performance, power, area, and schedule.
  • Review and approve critical RTL, verification strategies, and design documentation.
  • Act as technical escalation point for complex integration and silicon bring-up issues.
  • Own project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation for digital design activities.
  • Participate in implementation tasks: lint, CDC, constraints, synthesis, formal verification, ECO, timing and power closure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and product goals are met.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the digital design team; conduct design and project reviews to ensure quality and accountability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, leadership experience, and tooling familiarity.

  • 8+ years of hands-on digital IC/SoC design with ownership of complex IP or full-chip designs.
  • Strong expertise in RTL design, digital architecture, and mixed-signal SoC integration.
  • Solid understanding of block- and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
  • Proven experience leading projects and managing engineers, driving execution and resolving technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, STA, verification) and scripting (Python, Tcl, Perl).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to align cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced product development environment; resilient and self-driven.
  • Nice to have: Experience or awareness of AI-assisted design tools.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the source posting).
