Job Title
Digital Design Lead
Role Summary
Lead digital IC development for optical controller SoCs used in AI datacenter and hyperscale cloud infrastructure. The role combines technical ownership of RTL and architecture with project and team leadership to deliver mixed-signal SoCs through tape-out.
Experience Level
Senior-level role. Requires senior experience with substantial ownership (8+ years of digital IC/SoC design experience indicated).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, delivery planning, and team management for digital design activities.
- Define block- and chip-level digital architecture; drive micro-architecture decisions balancing performance, power, area, and schedule.
- Design, review, and approve critical RTL and implementation for optical controller SoCs.
- Own end-to-end digital design execution from architecture definition through tape-out.
- Define and manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation for digital design.
- Coordinate cross-functional integration with system, analog/mixed-signal, verification, firmware, and test teams.
- Act as technical escalation point for complex design, integration, and silicon bring-up issues.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing digital design team; conduct regular design and project reviews.
- Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional issues that may impact quality, schedule, or product goals.
Requirements
Must-haves reflect hands-on digital IC design and leadership required to deliver complex SoCs.
- 8+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design with ownership of complex IPs or full-chip projects.
- Strong hands-on expertise in RTL design and digital architecture.
- Solid understanding of block-level and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
- Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, STA, verification) and scripting (Python, Tcl, Perl).
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and engineering teams, driving execution and resolving technical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for aligning technical teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced AI datacenter product development environment; resilient and self-driven.
- Required travel: approximately 10% of time. Shift: day shift (first shift).
- Nice-to-have: experience with AI-assisted design tools and prior mixed-signal SoC integration exposure.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is specified.
