Job Title

Digital Design Flow Architect

Role Summary

Define and deploy a repeatable, traceable, and modular RTL-to-GDS digital design flow for advanced process technologies. Work with design teams, CAD/methodology, foundry partners, and EDA vendors to deliver production-quality flows that improve productivity and PPA.

Experience Level

Senior - Director-level technical leader in digital design, CAD/methodology, EDA implementation, or flow architecture. Proven ability to set technical direction and lead cross-functional flow transformations.

Responsibilities

Deliver and operationalize end-to-end digital implementation flows and associated practices.

  • Architect a modular RTL-to-GDS flow covering synthesis, floorplanning, P&R, timing/power closure, verification, signoff, and GDS delivery.
  • Enable agentic execution and AI-assisted debugging, including design-space exploration and automated analysis loops.
  • Establish repeatable, traceable practices: standard recipes, configuration baselines, metrics, dashboards, audit trails, regression checks, and release management.
  • Deploy flows for new process technologies in partnership with design, CAD/methodology, foundry, and EDA vendors.
  • Improve productivity, turnaround time, quality-of-results, and PPA through automation, methodology tuning, and scalable reuse.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred items listed when applicable.

  • Hands-on experience across RTL-to-GDS implementation: synthesis, P&R, CTS, ECO, signoff, and PPA closure.
  • Deep expertise in static timing and power analysis, congestion analysis, floorplanning, and advanced-node implementation challenges.
  • Experience developing agentic AI workflows: task planning, tool invocation, result interpretation, retry logic, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
  • Practical MCP experience: clients/servers, secure access, JSON-RPC-style communication, and integration with engineering systems.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Tcl, Python, Perl, shell, or equivalent).
  • Experience with major EDA ecosystems (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens EDA, or equivalent internal platforms).
  • Ability to define and execute migration strategies from script-driven flows to goal-driven/agentic flows, including validation, observability, governance, and rollback planning.
  • Proven record translating design challenges into reusable methodology and measurable productivity gains.
  • Nice-to-have: experience building MCP-enabled connectors/tool adapters, production observability, auditability, permission control, and regression validation infrastructure.

Education Requirements

Required: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D.
