Job Title

Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

As a Digital Design Engineer on the Oslo Digital Design team you will implement and deliver digital features for mixed-signal SoCs. The team develops processors, compute engines, accelerators, peripherals and system IP from architecture through production.

The role involves RTL design and verification, collaboration with analog and software teams, and participation in synthesis, timing closure, and integration tasks.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” recent graduates or students approaching graduation; typically 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Translate specifications and microarchitecture into RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL).
  • Implement and integrate digital features for SoCs; optimize for timing, power, and area.
  • Collaborate with verification, analog, and software teams to ensure correct integration.
  • Create and maintain simulation testbenches, assertions, and verification collateral.
  • Participate in synthesis, timing closure, and design-for-test activities.
  • Debug design issues and support silicon bring-up and validation.
  • Document design decisions and communicate progress across teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Foundation in digital logic, computer architecture, or embedded systems.
  • Coursework or project experience with an HDL (Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL) and interest in RTL design.
  • Understanding of combinational and sequential logic, finite-state machines, clock/reset concepts, and common digital interfaces.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English; collaborative team player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to digital verification (simulation, testbenches, assertions, or formal methods).
  • Familiarity with synthesis, timing, and power/area tradeoffs.
  • University coursework in analog electronics or mixed-signal circuitry.
  • Experience with Linux and scripting (Python, bash).

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Recent graduates and students approaching graduation are encouraged to apply.
