Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Perform digital design, emulation delivery, and verification activities for SoC projects within the digital design team. Drive emulation-based functional debug, accelerate SoC verification, and enable emulation models for early system development.

Collaborate with design, verification, digital IP, design enablement, validation teams, and EDA vendors to meet project milestones and improve emulation and verification methodologies.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires approximately 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on emulation delivery, SoC verification, and debugging complex designs.

• Lead emulation delivery and functional debug for complex SoCs.
• Drive accelerated verification flows and enable emulation models for early system development.
• Collaborate with design, verification, digital IP, design enablement, and validation teams to meet milestones.
• Work with EDA vendors to deploy and optimize emulation technologies and methodologies.
• Improve emulation methodology and bug-finding capabilities to support zero-defect goals.
• Provide technical guidance and assist the team in debugging complex issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in roles such as Staff Design Engineer, Hardware Design Engineer, or Modem ASIC Engineer.
• RTL design using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Testbench development and code coverage analysis.
• Clock-domain crossing checks and static analysis (CDC tools such as Spyglass), RDC, and lint.
• Power intent and analysis: UPF, CLP, Joules Power.
• Synthesis experience with Genus or equivalent tools.
• Proficiency in C++ and GLS used in verification/emulation flows.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with emulation platforms and deploying accelerated verification technologies.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering (including VLSI) or Physics, or foreign equivalent. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
