Job Title

Digital Circuit Design Intern (NVIDIA 2027 Internship)

Role Summary

12-week full-time internship within NVIDIA's hardware/digital design teams. Interns work on projects that contribute to digital circuit design, simulation, verification, and characterization supporting product development.

Work involves collaborating with engineers, using industry EDA tools, and delivering measurable design artifacts and test results. Intern hourly rate range: 20 USD - 71 USD.

Experience Level

Entry-level (internship). 12-week full-time program intended for students or early-career candidates.

Responsibilities

Interns will contribute to design, verification, and characterization tasks. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement digital circuit blocks (e.g., flip-flops, math cells, register files).
  • Run transistor- and gate-level simulations (SPICE/HSPICE) and perform timing/delay analysis.
  • Use EDA tools for synthesis, place-and-route, and standard-cell characterization (Cadence, Synopsys).
  • Develop RTL and testbenches using Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL and assist with verification.
  • Automate flows and scripts using Python, Perl, or similar languages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document results and test data.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (core):

  • Coursework or internship experience in digital circuit design, CMOS logic, memory design, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with RTL languages and verification: Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Experience with simulation and modeling tools: SPICE/HSPICE and timing analysis; familiarity with Monte Carlo methods is useful.
  • Practical experience with EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys) and basic scripting/programming (Python, Perl).
  • Ability to produce clear design documentation and work effectively in a team.

Nice-to-have:

  • Transistor-level design, standard-cell library experience, power/leakage optimization, FinFET technology, or SerDes experience.
  • Experience with place-and-route flows, datapath tiling techniques, memory/array design (SRAM), or power management circuits.

Education Requirements

Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field for the full duration of the internship; anticipated graduation month and year must be indicated on resume/CV.
