DFX Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for verification of Design-for-Debug (DFX) architectures and pre-silicon system verification for SoC/FPGA/full-chip designs. The role creates test cases and UVM-based testbenches, defines verification strategies and test plans, and coordinates with design, software, and architecture teams to achieve coverage and validate performance.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 5+ years of experience in ASIC design and/or verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on pre-silicon functional verification and cross-functional coordination.
- Perform pre-silicon system verification for SoC, FPGA and full-chip designs.
- Develop testcases and UVM testbenches.
- Define verification strategies, methodology and test plans to achieve effective coverage.
- Coordinate verification efforts with Design, Software, and Architecture teams.
- Use system-level applications to verify performance and identify gaps.
- Work with emulation platforms when applicable (experience is an advantage).
Requirements
Key technical and interpersonal requirements; items labeled "Must-have" are essential.
- Must-have: 5+ years of experience with complex ASIC designs and/or verification.
- Must-have: Familiarity with SystemVerilog and UVM verification methodology.
- Must-have: Experience with formal verification methods.
- Must-have: Experience with Design-for-Debug architectures (JTAG, high-speed USB, PCIe debug, visualization of internal signals) and verification of these features.
- Must-have: Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM and RISC debug architectures.
- Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to UltraSoC/Tessent Embedded Analytics Debug Architecture.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation platforms.
- Desired tooling: Working knowledge of Linux/Unix scripting; proficiency in Perl and/or Python is desirable.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to change.
