Job Title

Algorithm Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and optimize algorithms for database operations to run on Speedata's Analytics Processing Unit (APU). Deliver efficient, hardware-aware implementations and improve performance across the full stack from applications to silicon.

Work with software and hardware teams to simulate, validate and productionize algorithmic improvements and contribute to design reviews and architecture decisions.

Experience Level

Mid-level - requires 5+ years of software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include research, implementation, optimization and cross-team collaboration.

  • Research state-of-the-art algorithms and techniques for data analytics and hardware acceleration.
  • Implement algorithms in software, simulate on target hardware, and optimize their performance.
  • Collaborate closely with software and hardware engineers to integrate and validate solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to architecture and implementation decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Proven experience in algorithm development.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture and hardware–software interaction.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with database systems and SQL.
  • Experience with hardware acceleration systems and ASICs.

Education Requirements

BSc or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant STEM field.
