DFX Design Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Undergraduate intern supporting the Design for Excellence (DFX) Engineering team to improve product manufacturability, testability, and debug capabilities. Work includes design optimization, validation, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration on semiconductor or product design projects.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current undergraduate students; suitable for candidates with limited professional experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute to DFX activities, assist engineers, and help automate tasks to increase productivity.

• Assist in Design for Testability (DFT) and Design for Debug (DFD) initiatives.
• Support DFX design engineering execution and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on DFX deliverables.
• Assist in debugging and root-cause analysis of DFX-related issues.
• Contribute to automation scripts, tools, or AI-driven solutions to improve engineering productivity (e.g., Python, MATLAB, scripting).

Requirements

Essential skills and desirable experience for successful contribution.

• Basic understanding of digital design concepts, semiconductor fundamentals, or integrated circuit development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Nice-to-have: exposure to FPGA, ASIC/SoC design and Design for Test concepts (scan, BIST, ATPG).
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with programming or scripting (Python, Perl, MATLAB, C/C++); interest in applying AI to improve productivity.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
