Job Title
DFx-DV Engineer (Senior Silicon Design Engineer)
Role Summary
Senior engineer responsible for architecture, RTL integration, and silicon-quality implementation of embedded memory test, redundancy, and repair using Synopsys STAR Memory System across complex SoCs.
Work closely with DFT, physical design, DV, firmware, and silicon bring-up teams to ensure memory yield, reliability, and test coverage from RTL to production silicon.
Experience Level
Senior-level.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on memory DFX/DV and silicon-ready integration. Key responsibilities include:
- Architect, integrate, and maintain Synopsys STAR Memory System (SMS) solutions for embedded memories (SRAM, register files, ROM where applicable).
- Own MBIST, BISR, redundancy and fuse-based repair flows using STAR controllers, sequencers, and interfaces.
- Define and implement memory test architectures: March tests, repair analysis, fuse programming, and power-aware test modes.
- Integrate SMS IP with SoC reset, clock, and power domains, JTAG/test access, and firmware-controlled repair/status reporting.
- Collaborate with DFT, PD, DV, firmware, and silicon bring-up to validate test coverage and improve memory yield and reliability.
- Perform RTL integration and provide debug support across RTL, gate-level, and silicon bring-up.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with Synopsys STAR Memory System (SMS) integration and flows.
- Practical experience with MBIST, BISR, redundancy and fuse-based repair methodologies.
- Strong RTL skills in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Deep understanding of embedded memories (SRAM, register files) and memory fault models/March tests.
- Experience in silicon design or DFT/DFX-DV focused on memory test and repair.
- Knowledge of SoC clocking, reset, and power architectures; power-aware test considerations.
- Familiarity with synthesis, STA awareness, and timing-closure support.
- Strong debug skills across RTL, GLS, and silicon.
- Understanding of CPP as referenced in the posting.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with ROM where applicable and firmware-controlled repair/status reporting.
- Experience with low-power test modes and power-aware test flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech) in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or closely related technical field.
