Job Title

DFT Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Owner of design-for-test (DFT) verification, pattern development, and silicon bring-up for test features across multi-die ASIC products. Works with DFX, CAD, and methodology teams to develop and deploy DFT methodologies and improve verification flows.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” typically requires 2+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification, test development, and cross-team integration of DFT features.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of DFX verification and test-pattern development for features such as JTAG, boundary scan, security mechanisms, HTOL/IDDQ reliability tests, and test clocking.
  • Implement and validate multiple ATPG configurations in multi-die environments.
  • Perform silicon bring-up activities and debug test failures on hardware.
  • Collaborate with DFX, CAD, and methodology teams to improve flows, tools, and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of DFT methodologies for next-generation products.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate DFT features into chip designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Items labeled "Nice-to-have" are desirable but optional.

  • Proficient in static timing analysis, ECO, and ASIC/logic design flow.
  • Strong knowledge of HDL and digital logic design; experience in RTL and gate-level verification and simulation.
  • Familiarity with silicon bring-up and debug methodologies.
  • Practical DFT expertise: Scan ATPG, compression techniques, and memory test methods.
  • Familiar with BIST architecture and JTAG standards (IEEE 1149.1, 1500, 1687, 1838).
  • Good scripting skills (Perl or Python) and strong analytical/problem-solving ability.
  • Nice-to-have: prior work with multi-die test configurations and advanced ATPG flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred, or equivalent practical experience with at least 2 years in relevant roles.
