DFT Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Work on SoC Design-for-Test (DFT) across architecture, insertion, verification, pattern generation, coverage improvement, and post-silicon debug to meet product test metrics. Collaborate with Physical Design & STA for DFT-mode timing closure and coordinate with cross-functional teams and external customers as required.

Experience Level

Senior - Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define and implement DFT architecture for ASIC/SoC designs.
• Perform DFT insertion and verification (ATPG, MBIST, IJTAG).
• Generate test patterns, improve coverage, and run vector simulation.
• Analyze and debug post-silicon test failures and support yield improvement.
• Work with Physical Design & STA teams to achieve DFT-mode timing closure.
• Coordinate with external customers and geographically distributed teams.
• Document designs, test plans, and debug reports; present findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills:

• Must-have: In-depth knowledge of DFT concepts and hands-on experience with ATPG, MBIST, IJTAG, DFT insertion and verification, pattern generation, coverage improvement, vector simulation, and post-silicon debug.
• Must-have: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to work independently and communicate clearly across teams.
• Must-have: Experience collaborating with cross-geography teams and integrating DFT with physical design and STA workflows.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Mentor Graphics Tessent (Tessent Shell) or similar DFT toolchains.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Perl, shell) to automate flows and analysis tasks.
