Job Title

DFT Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for developing and deploying design-for-test (DFT) methodologies and architecture for NVIDIA SoCs. Work with cross-functional teams to implement test access mechanisms, memory BIST, scan and memory dump, and support verification and post-silicon validation.

Lead methodology for RTL design, verification, pattern generation, and partner with timing, physical design, software, bring-up, and production teams to ensure producible, testable designs.

Experience Level

Senior — 10+ years hands-on experience in SoC architecture, RTL design, and verification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement test access mechanisms and DFT features (e.g., IEEE 1149.1, IEEE 1500, IEEE 1687, 1838, memory BIST, scan and memory dump, DFX security).
  • Architect, develop, and deploy DFT methodologies across RTL, verification, pattern generation, and validation flows for next-generation products.
  • Collaborate with timing, physical design, software, bring-up, and production teams to balance testability, performance, and cost.
  • Support verification and post-silicon validation, including pattern generation, failure analysis, and validation on ATE.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on test design trade-offs and quality decisions.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in SoC architecture, RTL design, and verification.
  • Strong analytical skills for verification and validation of test patterns and logic on complex, multi-million-gate designs using vendor tools.
  • Exposure to RTL and clock design, static timing analysis (STA), place-and-route, and power considerations.
  • Experience with silicon debug and bring-up on ATE, including pattern formats, failure processing, and test program development.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of DFT security and hardware system security.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
