DFT Manager
Role Summary
Manage and technically lead a DFT team across ASIC engagements. Responsible for defining and executing chip-level test plans, guiding DFT architecture decisions, and driving post-silicon test and yield improvement activities.
Experience Level
Senior-level position. Requires extensive experience in DFT and ASIC test domains (see Education Requirements for degree-specific experience guidance).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include technical leadership, hands-on DFT work, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage and technically guide a high-performing DFT team on multiple ASIC projects.
- Define chip-level testing plans, including Scan, MBIST, and IO/IP tests.
- Execute critical DFT tasks and contribute hands-on to implementation and debug.
- Collaborate with physical design, verification, and manufacturing teams to select optimal DFT architectures.
- Work with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in post-silicon to improve test coverage, diagnose failures, and increase manufacturing yield.
- Drive DFT flows, tool usage, and automation to improve delivery and quality.
- Mentor engineers and establish DFT best practices and processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.
- Proven leadership managing DFT teams and delivering on ASIC engagements.
- Strong knowledge of DFT methodologies and architectures.
- Hands-on proficiency with industry DFT tools such as Siemens Tessent, Synopsys TestMAX, and SpyGlass DFT.
- Experience with post-silicon ATE diagnostics and yield-improvement activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physical design, verification, and manufacturing teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills for silicon failures.
Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of related experience.
