DFT Lead
Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
DFT Lead
Role Summary
Lead design-for-test (DFT) engineering for digital ASIC products. Responsible for implementing and verifying DFT features (scan, MBIST, LBIST, JTAG), ATPG pattern generation and verification, and supporting post-silicon bring-up. Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to improve test coverage and reduce test cost.
Experience Level
Senior β expects an experienced engineer. AMD specifies a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years or a Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include implementation, verification, debug, and automation of DFT flows.
- Implement and verify DFT features: SCAN, MBIST, LBIST, and JTAG.
- Perform scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation and prepare required ATPG files.
- Verify ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation and correlate coverage.
- Debug Spyglass-DFT DRC issues and perform coverage correlation.
- Analyze test coverage and test cost; recommend reductions and optimizations.
- Provide post-silicon support for bring-up and yield learning.
- Develop and maintain automation and debug scripts for DFT flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and preferred capabilities.
- Hands-on ATPG experience and familiarity with ATPG run files.
- Experience with scan insertion and scan-stitching concepts and workflows.
- Strong debug skills and scripting ability to support automation and flows.
- Experience correlating ATPG coverage and performing gate-level verification.
- Ability to support post-silicon debug and bring-up activities.
- Preferred: experience with Mentor Tessent ATPG and Spyglass-DFT.
- Preferred: exposure to MBIST/BISR implementation and MBIST insertion flows.
- Preferred: familiarity with automation scripting (TCL, AWK, SED).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 5+ years, in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
