DFT Engineering Technical Lead
Cisco SystemsJob Title
DFT Engineering Technical Lead
Role Summary
Lead design-for-test (DFT) implementation and DFT IP development for Cisco silicon platforms, focusing on ATPG, scan, JTAG, MBIST, and related tooling. Work with RTL, physical design, verification, and product development teams to integrate, validate, and debug testability features across pre- and post-silicon flows.
Experience Level
Senior - expects 10+ years of experience (posting references 10–12 years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include delivering DFT features, enabling manufacturing and in-system test, and supporting debug and validation.
- Design and implement DFT features to support ATE, in-system test, debug and diagnostics.
- Develop reusable DFT IP and test/debug strategies for new silicon, bare die, and stacked die.
- Integrate testability features into RTL and coordinate with physical design and verification teams.
- Support ATPG flow, pattern generation, gate-level simulation, and post-silicon validation.
- Debug test failures across simulation and silicon with minimal mentorship and propose corrective actions.
- Work cross-functionally to validate test timing and ensure test logic correctness throughout implementation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools; preferred items listed separately.
- Must-have: Strong experience with DFT concepts: ATPG, scan, JTAG, memory BIST and boundary scan.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with ATPG/EDA tool flows such as TestMax, Tetramax, or Tessent and PrimeTime for test-timing validation.
- Must-have: Gate-level simulation and debugging experience (VCS or equivalent).
- Must-have: Familiarity with ATE-related pattern flows and test integration across implementation and validation phases.
- Nice-to-have: Post-silicon validation and debug experience; working knowledge of P1687.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting for automation (Tcl, Python, Perl).
- Nice-to-have: Strong verbal communication and ability to operate in a multifunctional engineering environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required (posting specifies Bachelor's or Master’s in EE or CE).
