Job Title

DFT Engineer - New College Grad

Role Summary

The DFT Engineer works on design-for-test architecture, verification, and post-silicon validation for advanced NVIDIA ASICs. This role is part of the Design-for-Test Engineering team and collaborates with EDA vendors, internal CAD, VLSI, and Operations to deliver test features across product lines.

Main mission: develop and deploy DFT methodology and flows, support silicon bring-up and lifecycle test operations, and improve automation and tool support.

Experience Level

Entry-level (New college graduate)

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deploy end-to-end DFT methodology and test infrastructure for complex ASICs, including scan, BIST, ATPG flows, and post-silicon lifecycle support.
  • Partner with EDA vendors to extend tool capabilities and with internal CAD to implement automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with VLSI and Operations teams to deliver scan features across product segments and ensure manufacturability.
  • Validate and verify test patterns and logic on multi-million-gate designs using vendor tools; perform fault simulation and failure analysis.
  • Support silicon debug and bring-up on ATE, including handling pattern formats, failure processing, and test program development.
  • Mentor junior engineers on test design trade-offs, cost-quality decisions, and best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of scan test planning, BIST for memories and I/Os, fault modeling, ATPG and fault simulation.
  • Strong analytical skills in verification and validation of test patterns on large designs using vendor tools.
  • Familiarity with RTL and clock design, static timing analysis, place-and-route, and power trade-offs to guide test decisions.
  • Experience with silicon debug and ATE bring-up, including pattern formats and test program development.

Nice-to-have:

  • Scripting or programming experience in Perl, Python, or Tcl.

Education Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) or equivalent practical experience; the posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
