Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Work on Design-for-Test (DFT) architecture, verification, test pattern development, and silicon bring-up for Graviton-class SoCs developed by Annapurna Labs within AWS. The role sits on the DFT team supporting complex semiconductor platforms that power AWS compute infrastructure.

Position is based in Illinois and reports to the DFT engineering organization focused on chip testability, diagnostics, and manufacturing readiness.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires around 3+ years of relevant DFT experience in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Deliver and validate DFT solutions across design, verification, and silicon bring-up.

  • Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex SoCs.
  • Develop high-quality test and debug patterns to ensure manufacturable, robust devices.
  • Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and constraints.
  • Verify DFT logic and components using simulation and verification methodologies.
  • Support silicon bring-up, device diagnostics, and failure analysis on hardware.
  • Collaborate with chip design, verification, and validation teams to integrate DFT solutions.

Requirements

Core technical and practical qualifications for the role.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on DFT engineering experience at a semiconductor company.
  • Must-have: Proven experience designing and implementing DFT architectures and testability features for complex chips.
  • Must-have: Experience developing test/debug patterns and supporting silicon bring-up and diagnostics.
  • Must-have: Experience with static timing analysis involving DFT modes.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog and chip design flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with scan insertion tools, ATPG, and gate-level simulation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with verification platforms (UVM), FPGA/emulator environments, and advanced scripting (Perl/Tcl).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is stated. The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
