Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Design and implement design-for-test (DFT) solutions for high-performance server processors and platform controllers. Work on DFT architecture, test pattern generation, verification, and silicon bring-up for products used in AWS infrastructure.

Member of a cross-functional ASIC/DFT engineering team focused on production-quality testability and device diagnostics for complex chips.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3+ years of DFT engineering experience in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex semiconductor platforms.
  • Develop high-quality test and debug patterns to ensure robust device testability and yield.
  • Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and configurations.
  • Verify DFT logic and components using simulation and verification environments.
  • Support silicon bring-up, failure analysis, and device diagnostics during lab validation.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and bring-up teams to integrate DFT with chip flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are listed separately.

  • 3+ years experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.
  • Experience with chip design flows and gate-level simulation for test verification.
  • Experience with scan insertion tools, ATPG, and related DFT toolchains.
  • Verification platform experience (UVM testbenches, FPGA prototyping, or emulation).
  • Advanced scripting skills (Perl, Tcl) for automation and test infrastructure.

Nice-to-have:

  • Deep familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog for DFT and testbench development.
  • Experience with large-scale server SoC or controller projects and production validation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting indicates degree in EE or CE or equivalent.)
