DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Design and implement design-for-test (DFT) architectures, test patterns, and verification flows for complex system-on-chip platforms used in AWS Graviton processors. Collaborate with design, verification, and silicon bring-up teams to ensure manufacturability, test coverage, and device diagnostics.

Team: Annapurna Labs within AWS Utility Computing (UC); the role supports compute platform development for AWS infrastructure.

Experience Level

Mid-level — approximately 3+ years of DFT experience in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on DFT architecture, verification, and silicon support.

• Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex semiconductor platforms.
• Develop high-quality test and debug patterns to meet manufacturing and diagnostic requirements.
• Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and ensure timing closure for test logic.
• Verify DFT logic and components, including scan chains, test compression, and related circuits.
• Support silicon bring-up and device diagnostics during lab validation and in-field testing.
• Collaborate with RTL, synthesis, place-and-route, and verification teams to integrate DFT solutions.

Requirements

• Must-have: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company; proven experience with DFT architectures, scan insertion, ATPG, and gate-level simulation.
• Must-have: Practical experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with UVM testbenches, FPGA and emulator environments, advanced scripting (Perl/Tcl), and familiarity with test compression/streaming scan networks (e.g., Tessent SSN) or related tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; or equivalent practical experience.
