Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Design and implement Design-for-Test (DFT) architectures and test solutions for high‑performance server SoCs used in AWS infrastructure. The role sits on the Graviton/Nitro silicon team at Annapurna Labs (AWS) and focuses on ensuring silicon testability, robust debug capabilities, and reliable bring‑up.

Work involves architectural DFT design, pattern development, timing analysis, verification of DFT logic, and support for silicon diagnostics and bring‑up activities.

Experience Level

Mid-level — the posting requests 3+ years of experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex SoC platforms.
  • Develop test and debug patterns to ensure robust silicon testing and diagnostics.
  • Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and constraints.
  • Verify DFT logic and components using simulation and verification frameworks.
  • Support silicon bring‑up, failure analysis, and device diagnostics during lab validation.
  • Collaborate with RTL, verification, physical design, and validation teams to integrate DFT into the flow.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills:

  • 3+ years of semiconductor industry experience as a DFT engineer (must-have).
  • Practical experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog for DFT implementation (must-have).
  • Experience with scan insertion tools, ATPG flows, and gate‑level simulations (must-have).
  • Familiarity with static timing analysis in the presence of DFT structures (must-have).
  • Verification experience with platforms such as UVM; familiarity with FPGA and emulator environments (preferred).
  • Scripting skills for automation and tooling (Perl, Tcl; preferred).
  • Experience supporting silicon bring‑up, debug, and diagnostics in lab environments (preferred).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
