Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Design and verify design-for-test (DFT) architectures and test patterns for Graviton-class semiconductor platforms developed by Annapurna Labs within AWS. The role focuses on improving chip testability, enabling robust silicon bring-up, and supporting device diagnostics for cloud-scale compute platforms.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 3+ years of experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include DFT architecture, verification, and support for silicon bring-up.

  • Design and implement DFT architectures for complex SoCs and platform chips.
  • Develop high-quality test and debug patterns to ensure production test robustness.
  • Perform static timing analysis across DFT modes and ensure timing closure where applicable.
  • Verify DFT logic and components using simulation and emulation platforms.
  • Support silicon bring-up, device diagnostics, and post-silicon failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with chip design, verification, and validation teams to integrate DFT solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for successful performance in this role. Preferred skills are listed separately.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on DFT engineering experience in a semiconductor company.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog for DFT implementation and verification.
  • Must-have: Experience with scan insertion tools, ATPG flows, and gate-level simulation.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with verification platforms (UVM), FPGA and emulator environments for DFT validation.
  • Must-have: Scripting skills for automation and tooling (examples: Perl, Tcl).
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of verification platforms, extensive FPGA/emulator experience, and deep familiarity with ATPG and streaming-scan network concepts.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
