Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Design and implement design-for-test (DFT) architectures and test solutions for high-performance server SoCs used by AWS. Work on DFT insertion, test pattern generation, timing analysis, verification, and silicon bring-up as part of the Graviton/Nitro engineering teams at Annapurna Labs (an AWS team).

Collaborate with RTL, verification, timing, and silicon teams to ensure robust testability and diagnostics for production silicon.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects approximately 3+ years of relevant DFT experience in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on developing and validating DFT capabilities for complex chip designs and supporting device bring-up.

  • Design and implement advanced DFT architectures (scan, compression, SSN-style networks) for complex SoCs.
  • Develop high-quality structural test and debug patterns and flows (ATPG, scan pattern generation).
  • Perform gate-level simulations and comprehensive static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes.
  • Verify DFT logic and related components through simulation and lab-based validation.
  • Support silicon bring-up, device diagnostics, and debug activities on real silicon.

Requirements

Must-have experience and skills required for successful performance in this role; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on DFT experience at a semiconductor company.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with scan insertion, ATPG flows, and gate-level simulation.
  • Must-have: Experience developing structural test patterns and performing static timing analysis in DFT modes.
  • Must-have: Experience supporting silicon bring-up and performing device-level diagnostics and debug.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification environments.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Familiarity with FPGA/emulator-based validation and emulation flows.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Perl, Tcl) to automate flows and tooling.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience is acceptable. (The posting specifies a bachelor's or equivalent.)
