Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

Design and implement Design-for-Test (DFT) architectures and verification for complex SoC platforms used in AWS Graviton processors. Work on test pattern development, timing analysis across DFT modes, logic verification, and support silicon bring-up and diagnostics. The role sits on a hardware engineering team focused on enabling robust manufacturing test and in-field diagnostics for cloud-scale silicon.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” expects 3+ years of DFT engineering experience in a semiconductor company (guidance provided in the posting).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and support activities to ensure testability and diagnosability of chips.

  • Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex semiconductor platforms.
  • Develop high-quality test and debug patterns to ensure manufacturing and in-field test coverage.
  • Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and signoff flows.
  • Verify DFT logic and related components at RTL and gate level; create and run validation testbenches.
  • Support silicon bring-up, device diagnostics, and debug of test failures on hardware.
  • Collaborate with chip-design, validation, and manufacturing teams to integrate DFT into the design flow.

Requirements

Key technical requirements and desirable skills.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company; strong experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with scan insertion tools, ATPG, and gate-level simulations.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with UVM testbenches, FPGA or emulator environments for verification.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Perl, Tcl) for automation and tool integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug complex test failures and support silicon debug activities.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
