Role Summary

Design and implement Design-for-Test (DFT) architectures and test strategies for high-performance server SoCs used in AWS infrastructure. Work on DFT insertion, test pattern generation, timing analysis, verification, and silicon bring-up as part of a multidisciplinary chip engineering team.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 3+ years of experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities include designing DFT features, producing test content, and supporting device bring-up.

• Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex SoCs.
• Develop test and debug patterns to ensure robust manufacturing test coverage.
• Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and constraints.
• Verify DFT logic and components, including scan chains and control logic.
• Support silicon bring-up, failure analysis, and device diagnostics.
• Collaborate with RTL, physical design, and validation teams to integrate DFT solutions.

Requirements

Key technical skills and tools expected for the role.

• Hands-on experience with Verilog / SystemVerilog for test-related RTL.
• Experience with scan insertion tools and ATPG flows.
• Gate-level simulation and test verification experience.
• Proficiency with scripting for automation (examples: Perl, Tcl).
• Familiarity with verification platforms and methodologies; knowledge of UVM, FPGA prototyping, or emulation is a plus.
• Proven ability to debug test failures and support silicon bring-up.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or equivalent). The posting accepts equivalent practical experience; specifically, candidates typically have 3+ years of experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.
