Job Title
DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Work on design-for-test (DFT) for a multi-core AI accelerator ASIC. The role focuses on scan insertion, ATPG, memory BIST, tool integration, and silicon bring-up to deliver a robust and scalable test solution for large SoCs.
The position sits on the SoC/test team and collaborates with physical design, test engineering, and product teams to enable production test and yield ramp.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No specific years of experience stated.
Responsibilities
Deliver and integrate DFT features across the SoC and support test execution.
- Contribute to DFT architecture for a multi-core AI accelerator SoC.
- Implement scan insertion, compression, and test logic.
- Generate and analyze ATPG patterns for structural faults.
- Support MBIST implementation and memory test strategies.
- Integrate DFT tools into the EDA flow and develop automation scripts.
- Coordinate with physical design to ensure clean scan chains and timing closure.
- Support silicon bring-up, debug, ATE pattern bring-up, and production test activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and competencies for the role.
- Experience in DFT, digital design, or related ASIC development.
- Good understanding of scan, ATPG, memory BIST, and digital test concepts.
- Familiarity with mainstream EDA tools and flows.
- Scripting skills (Python, Tcl, or similar) to develop automation and analysis scripts.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work on complex system-level problems.
- Willingness to support silicon debug and production test activities.
- May require eligibility checks for export-controlled technologies; ability to comply with export control requirements.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field is specified.
