DFT Engineer
FractileJob Title
DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Implement design-for-test (DFT) for a large multi-core AI accelerator SoC. Work on scan, ATPG, MBIST, tool integration, automation and silicon bring-up as part of the SoC test and product engineering teams. Role is based in Bristol and may require export-control eligibility checks.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities on the SoC test and verification effort.
- Contribute to the DFT architecture for a multi-core AI accelerator SoC.
- Integrate DFT tools into the EDA flow and maintain the DFT toolchain.
- Implement scan insertion, compression, and test logic across digital blocks.
- Generate and analyze ATPG patterns for structural faults.
- Support MBIST implementation and memory test strategies for embedded memories.
- Coordinate with physical design to ensure clean scan chain implementation and timing closure.
- Develop scripts and automation to improve DFT workflows (e.g., Python, Tcl).
- Support silicon bring-up, debug, and test analysis; work with ATE to validate ATPG patterns and support production test and yield ramp.
Requirements
Concise list of required and strongly preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: Experience in DFT or digital ASIC design and a good understanding of scan, ATPG, memory BIST and digital test concepts.
- Must-have: Familiarity with mainstream EDA tools used for DFT and ATPG.
- Must-have: Scripting skills (Python, Tcl, or similar) to automate flows and reports.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with multi-core SoC testing, silicon bring-up, ATE pattern bring-up, production test and yield ramp.
- Nice-to-have: Experience collaborating with physical design for timing- and scan-chain closure.
- Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical discipline (as stated in the posting).
