Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

As a DFT Engineer on AMD's Design-for-Test team in Hyderabad, you will implement and verify DFT features (SCAN, MBIST, LBIST, JTAG), develop ATPG flows, and support post-silicon bring-up and yield analysis. The role focuses on improving test coverage, reducing test cost, and enabling successful silicon validation across cross-site teams.

Experience Level

Senior β€” Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include DFT implementation, verification, and post-silicon support for digital designs.

  • Implement and verify DFT features: SCAN, MBIST, LBIST, and JTAG.
  • Support Spyglass-DFT DRC debug and correlate coverage results.
  • Perform scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation.
  • Verify ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation.
  • Analyze test coverage and identify opportunities to reduce test cost.
  • Provide post-silicon bring-up support and contribute to yield learning.

Requirements

Core skills and experience required for the role.

  • Proven hands-on experience with ATPG and scan insertion.
  • Strong debug skills and experience verifying ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation.
  • Proficient scripting and automation skills (e.g., TCL); ability to debug automation flows.
  • Experience with test coverage analysis and strategies to reduce test cost.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with scan-stitching and MBIST/BISR implementation (Tessent flow).
  • Familiarity with Mentor Tessent ATPG and Spyglass-DFT tools.
  • Knowledge of AWK/SED scripting and post-silicon bring-up experience.
