DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Implement and verify design-for-test (DFT) structures and test patterns for ASIC projects to achieve required manufacturing test coverage. Work within the ASIC design and verification team to generate ATPG, analyze coverage, optimize tests, and validate scan functionality with gate-level simulation.
Position is with Mirafra Technology, a software services firm supporting engineering projects.
Experience Level
Senior — requires substantial hands-on DFT experience. The posting specifies a minimum of 5 years of DFT experience in ASICs; 10+ years is listed as preferred for large-scale ASICs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement DFT structures such as scan chains and scan compression.
- Generate ATPG and analyze test coverage results; extend or optimize tests to meet coverage goals.
- Run gate-level simulations to verify scan patterns and demonstrate test functionality.
- Collaborate with design and verification teams to diagnose and debug test failures and improve testability.
- Create and maintain test documentation and coverage reports.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum 5 years of DFT experience in ASICs.
- Practical knowledge of ATPG and coverage analysis workflows.
- Experience running gate-level simulations to validate scan patterns and test behavior.
- Familiarity with scan chain and scan-compression implementation techniques.
- Ability to analyze coverage reports and implement optimizations to improve testability.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Mentor Graphics DFT toolset.
- Experience on large-scale ASIC projects (10+ years of DFT experience preferred).
- Familiarity with verification flows and common simulation tools.
