Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Work on Design-for-Test (DFT) implementation and verification for complex client SoCs in the Client Engineering Group. The role owns DFT architecture, insertion and verification across IP and SoC levels and drives delivery of scan, MBIST, TAP and ATPG features.

The engineer will collaborate with RTL teams, verification and manufacturing/bring-up teams to deliver test patterns and support post-silicon debug as required.

Experience Level

Senior β€” posting specifies a minimum of 7+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years with a Master's degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation and verification of DFT features for IP and SoC deliveries.

  • Define and implement DFT architecture for IP blocks and full SoC integration.
  • Plan and perform scan insertion, MBIST integration and TAP implementation at RTL level.
  • Run and validate ATPG flows and collaborate on pattern generation and signoff.
  • Use Spyglass DFT and other DFT signoff tools to check design readiness and compliance.
  • Verify DFT functionality at IP and SoC levels and debug DFT-related issues.
  • Coordinate with verification, manufacturing engineering and bring-up teams for pattern delivery and post-silicon support.
  • Own end-to-end DFT delivery for assigned features and drive cross-functional execution.

Requirements

Core technical skills and hands-on DFT experience required. Degrees are summarized separately under Education Requirements.

Must-have

  • Proven experience in planning, implementing and verifying DFT features on multiple SoCs.
  • Hands-on experience with Spyglass DFT, scan insertion, ATPG flows, MBIST and TAP implementation.
  • Practical RTL experience to perform DFT insertion and fixes.
  • Experience executing at least one full SoC end-to-end as a DFT engineer.
  • Ability to drive DFT implementation and coordinate across RTL, verification and test teams.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working with manufacturing engineering on pattern delivery and post-silicon support.
  • Familiarity with test compression, hierarchical scan strategies and low-power DFT techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
