Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Join the silicon validation and test team to implement and verify design-for-test (DFT) for complex computer-vision SoCs. The role covers DFT from RTL through post-production and supports silicon bring-up and production test optimization.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requests approximately 1–5 years of DFT implementation experience.

Responsibilities

The engineer will own DFT implementation, verification, and production support for multi-million gate SoCs.

  • Implement DFT features: scan, compression, MBIST, LBIST, and streaming scan networks from RTL to post-production.
  • Analyze clocking schemes and implement clock control structures for at-speed scan testing.
  • Generate and develop high-quality scan and MBIST patterns.
  • Perform DFT verification, including post place-and-route timing simulations.
  • Work with product engineering to bring up scan and MBIST patterns on ATE.
  • Support silicon production: failure diagnosis, test optimization, and yield improvement.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience.

  • 1–5 years of practical DFT implementation experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid understanding of DFT fundamentals, scan methodology, and test architectures.
  • Knowledge of digital logic design and timing analysis.
  • Proficiency with Verilog and scripting with Python.
  • Experience with DFT verification and post place-and-route timing simulations.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up and working with ATE for scan/MBIST pattern validation.
  • Ability to diagnose failures and optimize production tests.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Mentor Tessent tools.
  • Experience with scan diagnostics.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering combined with 1–5 years of DFT implementation experience. (Equivalent practical experience in a related technical field may be acceptable.)
