Job Title

Senior DFT - Silicon Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Design-for-Test (DFT) Silicon Validation team in Santa Clara to lead silicon validation, bring-up, and productization of DFT features for complex SoCs. The role partners with cross-functional teams to define ATE test strategies, accelerate post-silicon validation, and drive yield ramp.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience guidance in this posting: BSEE with 8+ years, MSEE with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in DFT or related domains (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

Lead and execute silicon validation activities from architecture through production ramp to ensure robust productization of DFT features.

  • Drive end-to-end DFT architecture and methodologies to accelerate post-silicon bring-up and characterization.
  • Define and influence ATE test strategies across the product roadmap.
  • Plan and execute early silicon validation for complex SoCs, including chip validation on ATE.
  • Debug test content, analyze silicon behavior under varying operating conditions, and identify failure root causes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, test, yield, manufacturing) to support production ramps and improve yield.

Requirements

Key technical and professional requirements. Education details are summarized separately under Education Requirements.

  • Must-have: Proven expertise in silicon debug, bring-up, and productization of DFT features; hands-on pre-silicon validation experience for DFT features.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated leadership in driving yield ramp and waste reduction across products.
  • Must-have: Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to drive cross-functional resolution of complex issues.
  • Nice-to-have: Programming and scripting skills (Perl, Python, Tcl) for test automation and data analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with ATE, industry-standard DFT tools, high-speed protocols, and semiconductor process technologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Proven track record implementing advanced DFT methodologies in high-performance semiconductor projects.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies degree-and-experience combinations: BSEE (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years, MSEE with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in DFT or related domains. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degrees.
