Job Title
DFT Engineer (ATPG & SSN – Streaming Scan Network)
Role Summary
Hands-on DFT engineer responsible for implementing and validating design-for-test features at block and SoC levels, with emphasis on ATPG and streaming scan network (SSN) flows. The role works closely with synthesis, STA, physical design, and test teams to deliver test patterns, run gate-level simulations, and support silicon bring-up.
12-month contract (may extend). On-site in San Jose, CA.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 10+ years of practical DFT/ATPG experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design-for-test implementation, verification of test patterns, and cross-team debugging through bring-up.
- Implement DFT features including scan insertion, ATPG generation, simulations, and post-silicon diagnosis at block and SoC levels.
- Verify test patterns using gate-level simulations and validate coverage.
- Collaborate with Synthesis, STA, and Physical Design teams to identify and resolve DFT issues.
- Partner with test engineers during silicon bring-up and failure analysis.
- Maintain and debug ATPG and SSN flows; analyze results and report issues.
- Automate and document DFT flows and scripts to improve repeatability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 10+ years of DFT experience, including scan, ATPG, simulations, and post-silicon diagnosis.
- Hands-on experience with Synopsys TetraMAX, VCS, Verdi, and DC/Fusion Compiler.
- Proven ability to verify test patterns via gate-level simulation and perform coverage analysis.
- Experience working with Synthesis, STA, Physical Design, and test teams during silicon bring-up.
Nice-to-have:
- Expertise in JTAG and developing DFT architectures and specifications.
- Experience debugging MBIST, ATPG corner cases, coverage analysis, and silicon failures.
- TCL scripting for automation and custom flows.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
