DFT Engineer (ATPG & SSN – Streaming Scan Network)
Role Summary
Contract DFT engineer responsible for implementing and validating test infrastructure at block and SoC levels, supporting silicon bring-up, and resolving design-for-test issues across RTL-to-gate flows. The role works closely with synthesis, STA, physical design and test teams on a 12-month engagement in San Jose, CA.
Experience Level
Senior-level — requires 10+ years of relevant DFT/ATPG experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design-for-test implementation, verification, and cross-team debugging at pre- and post-silicon stages.
- Implement and verify DFT (scan insertion, ATPG, simulations) at block and SoC levels.
- Validate test patterns using gate-level simulation and debug failing patterns.
- Design and evaluate Streaming Scan Network (SSN) and related DFT architectures and specifications.
- Work with Synthesis, STA, and Physical Design teams to resolve DFT and timing interactions.
- Support silicon bring-up and post-silicon diagnosis alongside test engineering teams.

- Must-have: 10+ years of DFT/ATPG experience, including scan, ATPG, and debug at block and SoC levels.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with Synopsys TetraMAX, VCS, Verdi, and DC/Fusion Compiler.
- Must-have: Proven ability to verify test patterns with gate-level simulation and perform post-silicon diagnosis.
- Must-have: Experience collaborating with Synthesis, STA, Physical Design, and test teams during RTL-to-silicon flows.
- Nice-to-have: Expertise in JTAG, MBIST, coverage analysis, and debugging silicon-specific issues.
- Nice-to-have: TCL scripting experience for automation and custom DFT flows.
