Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for implementing and verifying design-for-test (DFT) for high-speed CPU core and multi-chiplet System-in-Package (SiP) designs. Work with cross-functional teams and external partners to plan DFT strategies, execute ATPG and fault-coverage flows, and support silicon debug and manufacturing test.

Experience Level

Senior β€” candidates with 10+ years of relevant DFT experience preferred. Candidates at other levels may be considered during interview.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver DFT infrastructure and processes across RTL-to-silicon flows.

  • Define and execute chip-level DFT strategies for CPU core and multi-chiplet SiP programs.
  • Implement and verify scan chains, memory BIST, JTAG, and other test structures to support manufacturing test and silicon debug.
  • Run ATPG, analyze fault coverage, and perform signoff of inserted DFT logic.
  • Collaborate with RTL, physical design, verification, and manufacturing teams to ensure testability throughout the design flow.
  • Script and automate DFT flows; build reports and tooling to scale testability and debug.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders during multi-chiplet integration and silicon bring-up.

Requirements

Key technical skills and practical experience required to perform the role.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of hands-on DFT experience for high-speed CPU or SoC designs.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with industry DFT/ATPG tools (examples: Synopsys, Siemens/Toolkit) and fault-coverage analysis.
  • Must-have: Scripting and automation skills (Tcl, Python) to integrate and scale flows.
  • Must-have: Experience with SoC-level silicon debug, formal verification of test logic, and DFT signoff processes.
  • Must-have: Strong cross-functional communication and ability to assess risk and resource needs in complex programs.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with multi-chiplet SiP programs, RISC-V CPU cores, and international collaboration on silicon projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field. The posting specifies 10+ years of relevant DFT experience in addition to the degree requirement.
