Role Summary

The DFT Engineer will define and implement design-for-test (DFT) architecture and verification for complex SoCs, integrate DFT IP, and drive ATPG and silicon test readiness. The role works with synthesis, verification, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust test coverage on high-speed, low-power process nodes.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires approximately 6+ years of professional experience in DFT architecture, implementation, ATPG and verification for SoCs.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Design and specify DFT architecture for SoCs, including test controllers, TAP, and MBIST integration.
• Develop and execute ATPG strategies and verification plans to achieve target test coverage.
• Integrate DFT IP into synthesis and verification flows and resolve tool/flow issues.
• Work with EDA tools to implement test logic and compression (e.g., Synopsys/Siemens EDA tool flows).
• Collaborate with physical design and timing teams on path-delay and timing-related fault coverage.
• Support test planning for ATE, system-level test (SLT), and production bring-up.
• Analyze test failures and support silicon debug and test optimization.

Requirements

Must-have:

• 6+ years experience in DFT architecture, implementation, ATPG, and verification for SoCs.
• Hands-on experience with industry DFT methodologies and platforms (ATE, MBIST, JTAG, SLT).
• Experience integrating DFT IP (test controllers, TAP, MBIST) and working across synthesis and verification flows.
• Proficiency with industry EDA DFT tools (examples: Synopsys Design Compiler/DFT Max, Siemens EDA Tessent/TestKompress).
• Familiarity with common fault models (Stuck-at, Transition, Cell-Aware, Path Delay) and their application to coverage analysis.
• Knowledge of silicon process characteristics and technology nodes targeting high-speed, low-power designs.
