Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for defining and executing the design-for-test (DFT) strategy within the MCU organization to ensure silicon testability, reliability, and manufacturability for SoC and MCU products targeting AI data center and humanoid system applications.

This role leads a technical DFT function, collaborates with design/verification/physical design/manufacturing teams, and mentors engineering staff to deliver robust test solutions at scale.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 3+ years of experience in digital design or DFT engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Execute and evolve DFT strategy across complex SoC and MCU designs.
  • Integrate DFT methodologies early in the design cycle through cross-functional collaboration with design, verification, physical design, and manufacturing teams.
  • Improve test coverage, fault detection rates, and reduce test time across product families.
  • Define personnel needs, select and develop team members, mentor engineers, and promote technical excellence in the DFT function.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital design or DFT engineering.
  • Expertise in DFT methodologies: scan insertion, ATPG, BIST (logic and memory), JTAG, boundary scan, and test compression.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard DFT/EDA tools such as Synopsys TestMAX and Mentor Tessent.
  • Solid understanding of SoC/MCU architecture and digital design flows.

Nice-to-have:

  • Background in embedded systems or MCU product development.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up, failure analysis, and yield-improvement initiatives.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. Master's or PhD in a related field is preferred. (Job lists Bachelor's degree as the required degree level.)
