DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver complex ASICs with responsibility across architecture, logic, verification, and implementation. Lead design teams, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure products meet timing, power, and functional requirements.
Experience Level
Senior. Experience guidance provided in source: Bachelor's +8 years, Master's +6 years, PhD +3 years.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of ASIC development and ownership of design quality and delivery.
- Define architecture, logic design, and module interfaces for ASIC blocks.
- Develop and oversee simulation, verification, synthesis, place-and-route, timing and power analysis.
- Lead design and delivery of new products and processes; act as escalation point for complex issues.
- Champion major projects and programs; influence stakeholder priorities and decisions.
- Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Evaluate process flow and vendor capabilities to support development.
- Plan and execute experiments, analyze results, and integrate findings into designs.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership skills.
- Proven experience across the ASIC design flow: architecture, logic design, verification, synthesis, place-and-route, and timing/power analysis.
- Demonstrated project management and team leadership delivering complex designs.
- Ability to apply broad engineering concepts to solve complex technical problems.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Strong analytical skills and experience running experimental tests and evaluating results.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years; or PhD with 3+ years. Post-graduate coursework may be desirable.
