Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Perform SoC-level RTL and gate-level verification, debug, and pre-/post-silicon validation within the ASICS engineering team in Bangalore. Work closely with design, physical-design, and test-engineering teams to identify and resolve functional and timing issues.

Experience Level

Mid-level (posting indicates Engineer/Senior; experience range shown as 2–5 years).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Plan and execute RTL and GLS (gate-level) verification at the SoC level; identify issues in RTL, netlist, and timing databases.
  • Perform pre-silicon verification and debug using tools such as VCS and Verdi; analyze assertions and waveform dumps.
  • Develop C-based testcases and integrate them into SystemVerilog UVM environments; generate vectors and SOC-level test plans.
  • Provide post-silicon validation and bring-up support to test engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with design and PD teams to isolate, document, and resolve functional and timing problems.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Hands-on RTL and gate-level verification experience at SoC level.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and familiarity with UVM methodology; ability to develop C-based testcases.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Perl, or similar) for automation and testbench support.
  • Experience with GLS/SDF debug, assertion-based debug, and waveform analysis.
  • Knowledge of JTAG and boundary-scan architecture and verification methods.
  • Familiarity with ARM-based SoC architecture and common bus/serial protocols (AHB, AXI, APB, I2C, SPI, UART) and peripherals/PHYs (USB2/3, PCIe, UFS).
  • Experience with pre-silicon tools (e.g., Verdi, VCS) and supporting post-silicon validation.
  • Good communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with design and test teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field with 2+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in those fields. "Related field" and equivalent practical experience are acceptable as indicated in the posting.
