Job Title

DFT-DV Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the front-end design/integration team within the Radeon Technologies Group responsible for implementing and verifying design-for-test (DFT) features to achieve first-pass silicon success.

Work closely with architecture, IP, physical design and product engineering teams to deliver test infrastructure, perform verification, and support post-silicon bring-up and yield learning.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Years of experience not specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design-for-test implementation, verification, and post-silicon support.

  • Implement and verify DFT architecture and features.
  • Perform scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation.
  • Verify ATPG patterns with gate-level simulation.
  • Analyze test coverage and test-cost tradeoffs; recommend coverage/cost optimizations.
  • Provide post-silicon support for bring-up and yield improvement.
  • Collaborate with architects, IP designers, physical design and product engineers to meet silicon quality goals.
  • Debug test failures and document test flows and results.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience. Must-have items are listed first; preferred items follow.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with Design for Test methods and DFT verification (scan, JTAG/1149.x, memory BIST).
  • Must-have: Experience with Verilog RTL, scripting (Perl/Shell), and gate-level simulation (e.g., VCS).
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with ATPG pattern generation and verification workflows.
  • Preferred: Experience with Mentor TestKompress and/or Synopsys Tetramax/DFTMAX.
  • Preferred: Post-silicon debug experience and familiarity with yield analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
