Job Title

DFT Design Engineer

Role Summary

Develop RTL and test solutions for design-for-test (DFT) features (SCAN, MBIST, BSCAN) and deliver test content and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) support for IP blocks and SoCs. Contribute to architecture and microarchitecture decisions, verify DFT features, and collaborate with verification, postsilicon, and manufacturing teams. Hybrid role based in Penang, Malaysia.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0 to 1 year of experience in DFT design, verification, or test content development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include implementing DFT features, creating test content, and supporting production bring-up:

  • Design and code RTL/structural DFT logic; simulate and verify using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or equivalent HDLs.
  • Develop and deliver DFx test content (SCAN, MBIST, BSCAN) and HVM content for ATE to support production ramp.
  • Provide DFT timing-closure support and optimize logic for power, performance, area, timing, test coverage, and testtime.
  • Integrate DFT blocks into functional IP and SoC and support SoC customers for high-quality integration.
  • Drive verification of DFT features; review and execute verification plans; resolve failing RTL tests.
  • Collaborate with postsilicon and manufacturing teams to validate features on silicon and support debug and documentation of learnings.
  • Apply EDA and design automation tools and methods for test and ATE workflows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools knowledge; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have:

  • Proficiency in RTL design and simulation using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or equivalent HDLs.
  • Familiarity with DFT techniques and tools: SCAN, MBIST, BSCAN.
  • Knowledge of design automation tools and ATE test methodologies.
  • Experience with validation environments and EDA tools.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with verification methodologies such as OVM or UVM.
  • Strong analytical and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Interest in improving DFT practices and supporting complex silicon designs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
