Job Title

DFT Automation and Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Join Intel's CPU Cores Engineering P-CORE DFT Validation team to develop and maintain DFT validation automation, tooling, and test environments for next-generation CPU designs. The role supports validation engineers, interfaces with CAD/EDA vendors and IT, and contributes to toolchain and collateral/spec generation.

This position is hybrid: four days per week on-site in Haifa and one day remote.

Experience Level

Entry-level / College graduate. The posting requests at least 3+ years of experience in pre-silicon validation and/or CAD/tool automation; equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

The engineer will maintain and improve validation environments and automation to support DFT validation activities.

  • Develop and maintain validation test environments, automation scripts, and debug tools.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and streamline debug workflows used by validation engineers.
  • Collaborate with CAD/EDA vendors and IT to resolve tool and infrastructure issues.
  • Develop and validate tools for collateral and specification generation for external customers.
  • Improve team-owned AI-assisted tooling and automation skills to support validation work.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Approximately 3+ years experience in pre-silicon validation and/or CAD/tool automation.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in TCL, Python, and/or Perl.
  • Experience with validation languages/environments (e.g., Specman) and HDL languages (e.g., Verilog).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and Linux shell environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging ability, and creativity.
  • Ability to work on-site in Haifa four days per week.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Synopsys/Verdi and/or Tessent EDA specs (ICL, PDL) and experience with agentic AI tools (agents, GitHub CLI, etc.).

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree; degrees in related electrical/computer engineering or equivalent practical experience are acceptable.
