Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include setting architecture direction, coordinating across teams, and delivering technical solutions that meet product goals.
- Define product features and micro-architecture requirements; drive technical specifications for SoC and IP blocks.
- Ensure firmware, BIOS and software align with hardware to enable features and optimize performance and power.
- Work cross-functionally with IP and domain architects to identify risks and develop architectural solutions.
- Act as product owner for architecture analysis and technical solutions for marketing or feature changes.
- Collaborate with design teams on area, floorplan refinement, timing targets, emulation plans, and verification test plans.
- Support pre-silicon and post-silicon activities including pre-Si bug resolution and post-Si performance, power and functional debug.
- Share knowledge, mentor engineers, and contribute to platform and system architecture efforts.
Requirements
Must-have
- Strong foundation in systems and SoC architecture and demonstrated success driving architecture and product roadmaps.
- Expertise in one or more areas: CPU or GPU microarchitecture, memory sub-systems, interconnect/fabrics, coherency, multimedia, I/O subsystems, clocks/resets, virtualization, or security.
- Experience analyzing micro-architectural features to identify workload performance bottlenecks.
- Demonstrated expertise in power management microarchitecture, low-power design and power optimization at architecture, logic and circuit levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for cross-functional and executive interactions.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with floorplanning, area tradeoffs, timing closure, emulation and verification sign-offs.
- Hands-on involvement in pre-silicon verification and post-silicon debug workflows.
- Prior experience mentoring senior engineers and leading architecture teams across geographies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
