DFT Application Support Engineer (Tessent)
Role Summary
Provide technical application support for Siemens EDA Tessent Design-For-Test (DFT) products to customers and internal field teams. Deliver product instruction, troubleshooting, and best-practice flows for DFT across IC designs in industries such as AI, automotive, and mobile.
Position is hybrid based in Gedera, with occasional travel to customer sites (under 10%).
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career β requires at least 2 years of IC/VLSI design or test experience (DFT/testing focus).
Responsibilities
Primary duties supporting customers and internal teams using Tessent DFT tools.
- Provide technical application support and troubleshooting for Tessent DFT products.
- Stay current with Scan Insertion, ATPG, BIST, diagnosis tools, and related DFT techniques.
- Collaborate with application engineers and customers worldwide to resolve complex DFT issues.
- Develop and deliver product training and documentation for customers and field personnel.
- Support product test generation, flows, and best practices across projects.
- Travel to customer sites as required (less than 10% of time).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role; preferred items listed below.
- Must-have: Minimum ~2 years experience in IC/VLSI testing and design-for-testability; in-depth understanding of DFT structures.
- Must-have: Experience with CAD tools and flows such as synthesis, simulation, ATPG, Memory BIST, Logic BIST, and boundary scan.
- Must-have: Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Scan Data Compression methodologies, ATPG flows, and MemoryBIST flows.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with design, simulation, and verification of IC/VLSI circuits and systems; product test generation.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Familiarity with UNIX/Linux and scripting; Verilog (Behavioral/RTL/gate), SystemVerilog, VHDL, TCL.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BSEE) or Master's degree (MSEE) in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
