Job Title

DevOps Engineer — Semiconductor EDA Tools & Automation

Role Summary

Responsible for architecting, automating, and operating secure, high-performance environments for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) workloads to support semiconductor design and manufacturing.

Collaborate with EDA tool vendors, PDK teams, R&D, IT, and security to deliver scalable DevOps solutions for on-premises and cloud/hybrid infrastructure.

Experience Level

Mid-level — approximately 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, automation, and operational support of EDA environments and related DevOps pipelines.

  • Design, deploy, and automate EDA tools (e.g., Cadence PSPICE, Artisan, Allegro) on-premises and in cloud/hybrid environments.
  • Build and maintain high-performance infrastructure for simulation and verification using LSF or Slurm job schedulers.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines for provisioning, configuration, and application updates.
  • Manage licensing, job scheduling, compute, storage, and network resources to optimize EDA workloads.
  • Implement security and compliance controls for sensitive design data in collaboration with security teams.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune EDA workloads and automation; provide technical guidance to engineers and researchers.

Requirements

Essential qualifications and skills required for the role.

  • U.S. citizenship required; eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (active and transferable Secret clearance highly preferred).
  • 3+ years hands-on experience automating and deploying semiconductor EDA tools in enterprise environments.
  • Practical experience with DevOps tooling and automation scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with job schedulers for HPC workloads (LSF or Slurm).
  • Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong Linux administration skills and familiarity with network and storage considerations for high-throughput workloads.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience managing EDA license servers and supporting design/verification workloads at scale.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) and familiarity with regulatory data-security standards.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field was requested.
