DevOps CI/CD Software Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Manage and grow a DevOps/CI-CD engineering team responsible for enterprise CI/CD platforms that support EDA toolchains and large-scale software systems. Drive the architecture, reliability, and automation roadmap to increase engineering velocity, quality, and operational excellence.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 10+ years in DevOps/infrastructure/build or release engineering and 3+ years managing engineering teams.
Responsibilities
The manager will combine technical leadership and people management to deliver scalable CI/CD infrastructure and practices across software and silicon teams.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of DevOps and CI/CD engineers; set goals and technical standards.
- Design and operate enterprise CI/CD architecture for multi-repository, large-scale systems.
- Define CI/CD, build, test, and release automation strategy and roadmap.
- Partner with software, FPGA/ASIC design, and validation teams to streamline integration and releases.
- Oversee automation frameworks for build, test, release, and infrastructure orchestration.
- Establish version control, branching, artifact management, and release governance best practices.
- Ensure CI/CD systems meet availability, performance, scalability, and security objectives.
- Lead incident response, post-incident analysis, and continuous improvement for CI/CD infrastructure.
- Promote DevOps maturity and consistency across engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications; preferred items listed separately.
- 10+ years in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or build/release engineering with increasing responsibility.
- 3+ years managing or leading engineering teams.
- Proven experience architecting and operating large-scale CI/CD systems in complex, multi-repository environments.
- Strong background supporting EDA workflows (simulation, synthesis, verification, or related flows).
- Deep expertise with CI/CD tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) at enterprise scale.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting for automation (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
- Strong Linux systems and operational troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence technical direction.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying AI/ML for automation, observability, or anomaly detection.
- Background in semiconductor, FPGA, or ASIC development environments.
- Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.
- Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of software security, compliance, and supply chain integrity practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
