Device Characterization Engineer, Central Services Lab (2027 New College Graduate)
Role Summary
Entry-level engineering role supporting silicon device characterization, electrical measurement, and data analysis to enable accurate device models and PDK delivery. The position is part of the Central Services Lab and works with technology development, process integration, modeling, and reference circuit teams.

Responsibilities
Perform device measurement and data activities that support model development, silicon validation, and PDK readiness.
- Support device characterization and electrical testing across wafer-level and structure-level measurements.
- Assist with data analysis, validation, and reporting of characterization results.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on model development, test plans, and measurement correlation.
- Troubleshoot measurement anomalies, retests, and data quality issues.
- Develop and maintain scripts or small tools to improve data processing, analysis, or workflow efficiency.
- Work cross-functionally with process integration, modeling, product, technology development, and reference circuit teams.
- Document results and contribute to technical reviews and internal reports.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and workplace abilities. Preferred items are listed separately.
- English fluency (written and verbal).
- Basic understanding of electrical measurements; DC and CV fundamentals; RF fundamentals preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, lab-driven environment.
- Nice-to-have: prior internship or co-op experience and hands-on exposure to electrical testing or lab measurements.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Python or programming in C/C++ and exposure to data analysis, automation, scripting workflows, or AI/ML concepts.
- Nice-to-have: demonstrated leadership, project management, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Interest in process improvement, standardization, and automation; willingness to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity.
Education Requirements
Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program is required. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and academic exposure to semiconductor device physics are specified as part of the new-college-graduate criteria.
