Device Characterization Engineer, Advanced & Emerging Memory

Role Summary

Lead electrical characterization for advanced DRAM and emerging memory devices, translating measurements into actionable insight that informs reliability, performance, and product outcomes.

Work across development and production teams to develop methods, automate test flows and data analysis, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include the following:

• Lead electrical characterization of advanced DRAM and emerging memory devices.
• Develop and scale characterization methodologies, models, and standards from early development through production.
• Design, automate, and maintain test flows, data pipelines, and analysis tools.
• Investigate device behavior, reliability mechanisms, and root causes; establish time-zero baselines.
• Collaborate across process, build, and systems teams and present technical findings clearly.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and electrical characterization, particularly for DRAM and emerging memory architectures.
• Experience with reliability characterization and establishing time-zero baselines.
• Hands-on experience with parametric test equipment and wafer-level or ATE systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for automation and data analysis; experience with AI/LLM-based tools for automation is expected.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience scaling characterization methods into manufacturing flows.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, or subject-matter expertise.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience collaborating across functions.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
