Development Tools Software Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop, and optimize software tools that support silicon debug, validation, and manufacturing test processes. Work with validation engineering teams and external partners to enable hardware-software integration and bring Intel silicon products to production.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requires 4+ years of professional experience in relevant software and hardware-integration work.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include tool development, integration, and support for silicon validation and manufacturing.

• Develop and enhance software tools for silicon debug, validation, and manufacturing test flows.
• Debug and fix software issues; own validation and create functional documentation.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers; triage root causes for silicon power-on issues.
• Perform hardware-software integration and debug for interfaces such as JTAG, I3C, SMBus and silicon TAP topologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team processes (scrum/kanban).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints for initial consideration.

• 4+ years of experience with object-oriented software development and debugging.
• Experience in hardware-software integration and debug.
• Proficient in Python, C, and C++.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git/GitHub.
• Advanced English communication skills and strong problem-solving ability.
• Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Intel validation tools and processes, simulation frameworks, or working with Silicon Validation teams.
• Knowledge of MBIST, scan dump, JTAG, I3C, or silicon TAP topology.
• Experience engaging stakeholders in requirements elicitation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required (as stated in the posting).
