Role Summary
Join the DevOps team responsible for the Bazel monorepo and CI/CD infrastructure that every engineer depends on. The role focuses on build-system engineering, CI reliability, observability, and developer productivity across ML, systems, and verification workloads.
Work spans Bazel rule development, scalable multi-language builds (Python, C++, Rust, SystemVerilog), CI performance optimisation, monitoring and incident response for build infrastructure.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically 5+ years in software or infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years working with build systems.
Responsibilities
The role combines build-system engineering with SRE practices to ensure reliable, performant CI and developer workflows.
- Design, implement, and maintain Bazel rules and extensions across the stack.
- Scale and manage a monorepo supporting Python, C++, Rust, SystemVerilog, and ML workloads.
- Create reproducible, multi-language build and release pipelines.
- Debug and triage CI pipeline failures; perform root-cause analysis and systematic remediation.
- Optimise CI performance across large compute clusters.
- Build and maintain monitoring and observability tooling for build and CI systems.
- Define alerting thresholds, runbooks, and incident response workflows; participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Contribute upstream to Bazel rules and related open-source projects to reduce internal maintenance burden.

Must-have
- 5+ years in software or infrastructure engineering.
- 3+ years working with build systems; strong hands-on experience with Bazel.
- Python scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with CI/CD for large-scale products and debugging pipeline failures at scale.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
- Working knowledge of SRE practices: SLOs, alerting design, incident management, and on-call procedures.
Nice-to-have
- Experience across ML workloads, compilers, kernel drivers, simulators, or hardware verification flows.
- Familiarity contributing to or maintaining upstream Bazel rules and build tooling.
